About Me

History

My name is Jacy Pennaertz-Williamson, and I'm a recent Electrical Engineering graduate from Carleton University.

I grew up on a hobby farm outside of Peterborough, Ontario, where I experimented with personal projects involving small engines, landscaping, metal fabrication, and electrical wiring.

I discovered my interest in applying math and science to the real world in a high school small engines course, eventually leading to my part-time role as a small engine mechanic. I enjoyed repairing and maintaining small engines and other power equipment, always intrigued by the science and physics that made them work. My passion for math, science, and their real-world applications led me to pursue my studies in Electrical Engineering.

I studied during the fall and winter semesters in Ottawa, where I learned important engineering concepts, lessons, and theories. I was always interested in my coursework and enjoyed relating it to my experiences working on the farm and in my garage. Instead of working in industry during the summers, I returned home to assist my family with outdoor chores and prepare for the winter and spring seasons.

My learning did not stop after completing my last exam. I continue to independently research and develop personal hobby projects, building my skills and expressing my creativity.
